Black Desert Online Is Launching In Brazil Thanks To Publishers Redfox

Brazillian fans of Black Desert Online, rejoice! The game will be launching in Brazil with a fully localized Portuguese version. Publishers Redfox are in-charge of the publishing, and have put up the official BDO site for Brazil as well.

According to MMO Vicio, the announcement also details that the game will launch with a buy to play model. This is consistent with the North American and EU version of the game. Players will be able to enjoy the contents of this MMORPG with a single, one time purchase.

Previously, Black Desert Online was unavailable in Brazil due to region locks. In fact, there are plenty of other countries still unable to access any form of the game because of said region locks. While inconvenient, the Brazilian launch does offer some glimmer of hope to players in other parts of the world.

Will we see BDO arrive in more distant shores? Time will tell, but with the announcement that a console port is in the works, now is a better time than ever to drop those region locks. Publishing and distribution deals are tricky things to handle globally. But if we’ve learned anything about the MMORPG industry, it’s that players will find a way to play eventually.

If there are any Brazilian readers out there, let us know your thoughts! Are you excited to be finally playing BDO? We sure hope so.
